Oscar
Oscar1.jpg

Oscar found freedom from a local animal shelter this 4th of July due to his smashing good looks and charming personality.  A local rescuer went in to look at a small dog and fell in love with this big fella.  He is still a pup at just under 1 year old, up-to-date on all shots,  and neutered.  He is an American Bulldog / Boxer mix, weighing in at about 70lbs.  He's the sweetest boy ever and just loves to snuggle up and cuddle. :)  He's very playful, and gets along wonderfully with everyone – dogs, cats, and kids!  Oscar also has the cutest little underbite. :)  This animal is crossposted.  Please contact the e-mail address above for more information about Oscar.

Isabelle

Isabelle.jpg

Isabelle is a sweet, 14-month-old black and white, cow spotted kitty.  She is very striking with the black mascara markings around her eyes.  Izzy B was once a very shy kitty, but has really blossomed in her current foster home and once setttled into a new environment is quite outgoing.  She really comes alive in the evenings and has even taken to doing a little dance around the cat tree.  This diva always stops to pose for pictures.  Isabelle is quite the nibble monster and will nibble fingers or toes when she gets overstimulated. Ah well, as bad habits go, we don't think that is so terrible.  Isabelle is fostered by a Paws 'n Purrs with IMPACT volunteer and available for adoption from South Bend Animal Care and Control. She is current on all vaccines including Rabies, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, micro chipped, and already spayed. Her adoption fee is $100.  Please e-mail info@pawsnpurrs.org for more information about Isabelle.  Applications can be found at www.southbendin.gov/doc/ACC_AdoptionApp.pdf .

Misty

Misty1.jpg

Misty is a sweet little white kitty with gray tabby markings and lovely amber colored eyes who is around 8 months old.  She is a little shy with people at first, but very loving once she warms up. She gets along well with other cats and dogs.  Her current favorite places to be are on the back of her foster mom's computer chair and on her foster dad's desk helping him send out e-mails.  Misty is micro chipped, up-to-date on vaccines including Rabies, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is already spayed. Her adoption fee is $100. If you are interested in Misty, please e-mail info@pawsnpurrs.org go to www.southbendin.gov/doc/ACC_AdoptionApp.pdf to download an adoption application today.

Harmony

Harmony is adjusting very well to her new foster home. She has decided that dogs aren't so bad after all. We are really proud of this pretty girl. She is doing great! Harmony is very loving and craves attention. After an initial getting-to-know-you period, she warms up to other cats and a little more slowly to dogs. Harmony is about 15 months old and is current on vaccines including Rabies, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, micro chipped, and already spayed. Her adoption fee is $100.  Please call the shelter at 574-235-9303 or e-mail info@pawsnpurrs.org for more information about Harmony. Cole

Cole1.jpg

Cole is Harmony's son and was unfortunately returned to us due to a change in living arrangements with his former owners. He is almost 8 months old and is a very large boy. He has a ton of personality and is very vocal like his mother, perhaps getting some of her Oriental/Siamese genes. Cole was recently neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and microchipped. He still has a lot of kitten energy and enjoys the company of other animals as long as they don't mind a good chase. If you would like more information about Cole, please call 574-235-9303 or e-mail info@pawsnpurrs.org.  Applications can be found online at http://www.southbendin.gov/doc/ACC_AdoptionApp.pdf.

Nyssa

NyssaNew2.jpg

Update:  Nyssa is doing great.  She still has a little trouble relating with certain cats.  She wants to play rough and some just don't appreciate her enthusiasm.  :)  She has bonded with a laid back adult male and also accepts young kittens in a short amount of time.  She is very loving to people and enjoys being held.

Nyssa, which means "new beginnig" is a pretty DSH, brown Tabby with White kitty. She is approximately 1 year old. She was surrendered to the shelter when she was very pregnant. The babies were born just one day after going into foster care. However, due to her weakened immune system, Nyssa developed an Upper Respiratory Infection when the kittens were only a few days old and had to be force fed and given fluids. This illness was soon passed to her kittens and although we tried very hard, only 1 of 5 is still surviving. Nyssa was a great mom and tried her best to care for them no matter how bad she felt. She still helps the kitten that is left by grooming her after her bottle feedings. Nyssa is not quite sure about other dogs and cats yet, but is slowly getting used to the ones in her current foster home. It will take her a little while to get out of that "protective mommy" mode. She is extremely affectionate with people and is a wonderful lap cat. This brave beauty has had her Rabies vaccine and her first set of regular shots, is micro chipped, and already spayed. Her adoption fee is $100. Are you the one to help heal Nyssa's broken heart and make her a part of your family? For more information about Nyssa, please call the shelter at 574-235-9303 or e-mail
info@pawsnpurrs.org. Applications can be found online at http://www.southbendin.gov/doc/ACC_AdoptionApp.pdf.
Kitten Season will soon be upon us.
Young mothers and tiny kittens often don't survive in the shelter systems. Please spay and neuter your pets and never let them roam freely outside.

Chloe

Chloenew1.jpg

Update 07/20/08:  Chloe has had a little setback and is not eating as well as she should to maintain her health.  We believe she has some broken teeth that are bothering her and will probably need extracted.  She has an exam appointment scheduled for Monday, July 21st at Western Veterinary Clinic.  Please continue to donate to our Hannah's Heroes Fund to help this sweet lady feel better.

Update:  New test results show that Chloes is doing great and recovering from a urinary tract infection.  Chloe is a special kitty who is looking for a special family to love her.   Please go to Chloe's Page to rea
d her story.  She is the wonderful mother of 5 kittens.  All but Butters have found their forever homes.  She would be happiest in a quiet home where she could enjoy being a spoiled lap cat.
