Mission Statement:  Working Together To Solve The Pet Overpopulation Problem

Focus:
The focus of Paws ‘N Purrs with IMPACT is to reduce the numbers of unwanted animals euthanized each year in our community by concentrating on ways to solve the pet overpopulation problem.  This goal will be achieved first and foremost through the support of educational and low-cost spay/neuter programs in our community.  Our volunteers will also provide shelter support to any animal welfare organization whose mission we deem to be aligned with that of Paws ‘N Purrs with IMPACT through various means such as animal transport, adoption promotion, and fostering.  Other activities may include, but are not limited to fundraising for animal-related community projects and for individual animals who may be in need of veterinary care.

Specific Objectives and Purposes:
The specific objectives and purposes of Paws ‘N Purrs with IMPACT shall be as follows:

(A)
Our educational objective is to create relationships among various school corporations, community living facilities, and other public forums in order to circulate general information about animal welfare topics and various ways to help control the pet overpopulation.  This goal will be accomplished through volunteer speakers, therapy dog visits, and the distribution of age-appropriate materials (as deemed by individual school administrators or community leaders involved).   Donations for educational initiatives will be collected and distributed through our Ellie's Educational Fund.

(B)    Paws 'N Purrs with IMPACT members believe accessible spay/neuter opportunities will significantly decrease the number of homeless pets and unnecesary animal euthanasia due to lack of space in shelters in our community.
Our low-cost spay/neuter objective is to support already established programs, as well as, offer our services to any future programs directly related to solving the pet overpopulation through volunteer efforts and fundraising.   Our support of these types of programs includes, but is not limited to low-cost mobile vets, transport shuttles to already established low-cost clinics, discount priced spay/neuter events at community veterinarian practices and other venues, as well as, financially assisted voucher programs.  The afore-mentioned low-cost spay/neuter initiatives are not limited to house pets, but may include homeless animals, feral felines, and any other animal in danger of euthanasia due to overpopulation.  At this time, we reserve the right to keep in consideration for the future, the possibility of creating permanent low-cost spay/neuter facilities in our community in order to have a massive impact on pet overpopulation in northern Indiana and surrounding areas.   Donations for low-cost spay/neuter programs will be collected and distributed through Midnight Star's Spay/Neuter Fund.

(C)
Our shelter support objective will be achieved by Paws ‘N Purrs with IMPACT retaining itself as a separate, non-profit organization while providing support of time, volunteers, skills, and resources to already established shelter and rescue entities whose mission is determined to be in alignment with that of Paws ‘N Purrs with IMPACT in our community and surrounding areas. Donations for shelters will be collected and distributed through the Jami Jones Memorial Shelter Care Fund; a fund established to support shelter animals in our community.  A few ways in which we will provide shelter support are as follows:

1.   Our animal transport objective is to provide transportation of animals from shelters and/or rescues to other screened rescues, and/or pre-approved foster/forever homes.  All receiving rescues will be 501(c) 3 approved organizations or screened private non-profit entities, and individual homes or other
destinations will have been pre-approved by the individual sending shelter’s own background check and application process.  Paws ‘N Purrs with IMPACT volunteers’ only role will be in transporting the animal(s) to a predetermined destination.  All liability beyond that service belongs to the sending or receiving parties.  Transports are not limited to canines and will be used for any companion animal, small animal, or wildlife in need of re-homing.    This transport system will be supported through volunteers and donations for any costs including gas, tolls, etc…(as determined in our organization's bylaws).   Donations for costs related to our transportation goals will be collected and distributed through Tige's Transport Fund.

2.   Our foster and adoption objectives are to support local shelters, animal control agencies, and rescues in our community and surrounding areas by providing foster care and assisting with adoption-related events.  These activities will have the express purpose of helping to find forever homes for animals who would otherwise be euthanized.

(D)
Our community involvement objectives will include fundraising activities and support for any project or program which our board of directors has determined will enhance the health and well being of companion animals in our community.  This involvement will include, but is not limited to fundraising for specific programs and/or individual animals in need of assistance; as well as, the planning and promotion of community-wide adoption events.

1.   Donations
for major community projects will be collected and distributed through our Casper’s Community Care Fund; a fund established to support animal welfare in our community.

2.   Donations
for individual animals in need of veterinary care will be collected and distributed through our Hannah’s Heroes Fund; a fund established to provide financial support for any animal in need of major medical care in our community.  Recipients of this fund must be voted on and approved by the board of directors of Paws ‘N Purrs with IMPACT.

3.
The facilitation and participation in large-scale community adoption events will also enhance our connection to the community.  These cooperative efforts will provide adoptable animals the greatest possible opportunity for exposure to the public, as well as, bring about the awareness needed to solve the pet overpopulation problem.

(E) This organization will maintain and continually strive to recruit a list of volunteers willing to provide any of the previously mentioned services, donations, or needed supplies in order to achieve the goals and missions set forth in these objectives of Paws ‘N Purrs with IMPACT.
