THANK YOU!!!!!!
Update 08/01/08: Chloe
is back on dry food and eating well every day. She is feeling much better and spending most of her time hanging out
around her foster dad's computer. She is on the mend and ready for her new forever home!! Chloe will have
one more follow up vet appointment within the next few weeks. Thank you to everyone who sent in generous donations and
well wishes. We have almost met our goal to pay the vet bills!
Update 07/23/08:
Chloe's dental surgery was completed on Tuesday, July 22nd. She had 2 teeth extracted that were fractured
and they cleaned up the rest of her teeth and gums. She was able to eat a little bit last night. She is still
feeling bad right now, but we are hoping this procedure will make her feel much better so she can
regain her appetite. Please help us pay her vet bill by donating to our Hannah's Heroes Fund.

Update 07/21/08: Chloe had
her appointment today. At least 2 teeth need extracted and they are going to clean up the gums and the rest of the teeth
while she is in surgery. The estimate is from $300 - $400 depending on how hard the teeth are to remove. If they
find any further damage, the estimate could go higher. Please donate to Hannah's Heroes Fund today to
help pay for Chloe's medical expenses. Please donate online via the Paypal donation button above or
send a check made out to Paws 'N Purrs with IMPACT with a notation that it is for our Hannah's Heroes Fund.
Checks may also be sent directly to Western Veterinary Clinic with a notation that the funds are for Chloe From SBACC.

Update 07/13/08: Chloe had a little setback this past week.
She stopped eating again for a few days. We gave her fluids and she has regained her appetite. We think she is
having some mouth pain as a few of her teeth appear to be broken off. We would like to schedule her for another appointment
to get this checked out as soon as possible. Please donate to help keep Chloe feeling better. It is very important
for her health that she continue eating to maintain her strength. We can schedule an exam for $39.
After the appointment we would have an estimate for any extractions that she might need. Update 06/27/08:
We just received the test results and Chloe's bloodwork
looks really good!!! Her BUN and creatinine levels are normal. The only numbers that were still too high on
the urine panel were protein (which has lowered since the first test and is barely out of range) and a slight elevation of
white blood cells which indicates that she may still have some infection or inflammation in the urinary tract. The vet
said that he saw no signs of kidney failure at all which is what we were worried about. Another week of antibiotics
has been recommended and we have started her on a low-protein diet. Thank you so much to all who donated to help
Chloe!!!
Update 06/18/08:
Chloe is feeling better and
over her upper respiratory infection. Her appetite is pretty good and she has regained her spot as Best Lap Cat
Ever. :) She had her vet appointment today and was very good for the doctor. He was able to get a urine sample
and draw some bloodwork. We will have the results in a few days. Please keep her in your thoughts.
Update 06/09/08 :
We just received word that there were some
donations brought to Western Veterinary Clinic for Chloe, so we already have enough for bloodwork, (without an x-ray).
Due to her weakened immune system, she has contracted an URI, so we are currently trying to get her over that before we make
the appointment for the bloodwork and another urine test.
Thank you so much for all who are reaching out
to help this sweet girl.
Donations
Received = $180 (spent on bloodwork, urinalysis, and exam fees)

Chloe is a mother cat who was brought into South Bend Animal Care and Control
with 2-day-old babies. She went into the foster care of a Paws 'N Purrs with IMPACT volunteer that very night.
Chloe has been an excellent mom and even took on an extra kitten whose mom was sick and couldn't feed it when hers were
just 3 weeks old. We recently took her for a vet visit as it seemed that she was urinating in large amounts. Her
urine was tested and does have a higher than normal amount of protein. The next step in her care is to do a second urine
test and have a blood panel and possible x-rays done. The total cost for all of this will be approximately $250.
Paws 'N Purrs with IMPACT is now accepting donations for Chloe through our Hannah's Heroes Fund. Contributions
can also be sent directly to Western Veterinary Clinic with the notation "For Chloe From SBACC". The address
is: 25190 SR 2, South Bend, IN 46619. Chloe is available for adoption as a special needs kitty with the
full disclosure that we don't know at this time what the full extent of her renal issues are and with the knowledge that
she will need a special diet for the best kidney health and according to her nutritional needs for the rest of her life.
If she is not adopted, she will be given the best quality of life possible in her current foster home. She is a very
loving cat with people and a great lap cat. We think she was an outside kitty in the past, so she does take some time
to warm up to other animals. A quiet home with no other animals or only 1 or 2, would be ideal. She is a buff
Tabby and white cat who is only thought to be 2- 4 years old. She had 5 beautiful kittens of her own. All
have been adopted except for Butters who can be seen at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/IN31.html.
